Mörsjö deli develops delicacy products rooted in Northern Swedish food culture. Our delicacy chips, Thinbread Chips and Root Vegetable Chips, work great as snacks on their own, but also add a fantastic flavour experience alongside other Jämtland treats—such as reindeer meat, moose meat, cheeses, bread, jams and marmalades. Mörsjö deli also has its own Gourmet Dip Mix; a base of dried cream cheese with red onion, garlic and chives—fantastic to serve with Thinbread Chips.

Vision
Our vision is for Mörsjö deli to offer customers a unique taste experience based on Jämtland’s food traditions. At the same time, we want to surprise with new and modern forms.

History
In Jämtland, thinbread has been baked for everyday life and celebrations for a thousand years. It was simply too cold to grow anything but barley in northern Sweden. Barley has a low gluten content and doesn’t rise well, so unleavened thinbread made from barley flour became a natural part of Northern Swedish food culture. Thinbread could be eaten soft or stored as hard bread for a long time in the storehouses. Thinbread baking could go on for several days, and in every village there was always a woman considered the best at rolling out the dough and a woman considered the best at baking it!
Mörsjö deli Thinbread Chips are based on the idea of reusing/developing old traditions. The idea behind thinbread chips came about when a girl was asked to bring snacks to a party, and she did what her mum and her grandma had done for many years: reused old thinbread with oil and baked it again—and with a bit of seasoning—it became an instant success!
